Dr Stephen Parkinson qualified from St. Bartholomews Hospital London in 1984. His interests include:

  • Asthma - he runs the Asthma clinic at the surgery on wednesday afternoons
  • Gastroenterology
  • Psychiatry
  • Drug Addiction - he worked for the Drug Advisory Service of Haringey for five years until early 1999. He now supervises the Substance Misuse management clinic.

Biographical Details
Special Interests

I was born and grew up in London. My parents are both Greek Cypriots who came to London in the early 1950s. Between 1975 and 1981 I studied Medicine at University College London achieving the following degrees: 1978 BSc (Hons) London 1981 MB BS (Lond). I subsequently worked as a junior hospital doctor in cardiology and gastroenterology in several units before deciding to become a general practitioner. I joined the training scheme at Edgware Hospital and carried out my General Practice Registrar year with Dr Jonathan Riddell at the Highgate Group Practice in North London. During this time I achieved the following postgraduate qualifications:

  • 1984 Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists
  • 1984 Certificate of the Family Planning Association
  • 1985 Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners.

I love my job as a general medical practitioner and always strive to give excellent care and service to you, my patients. I have always endeavoured to keep your best interests central to what I do professionally. In addition to my core work as a General Medical Practitioner, I have a special interest in the following areas:

  • Gastroenterology and Cardiology; Cardiovascular Risk Reduction and Rehabilitation after myocardial infarction.
  • Children's' Health and Child Health Surveillance.
  • Psychotherapy and Counselling in General Practice.
  • Undergraduate and Postgraduate Education within the Primary care setting
  • Working with Multidisciplinary Healthcare Teams
  • Quality Aspects of Health Care Delivery through Practice Organisation and Quality Management Systems
  • Medicolegal expertise and report writing for victims of Road Traffic Accidents

Dr Janet High BSc, MB BS, MRCP, DRCOG, DCH.

 

Dr Janet High

Dr Janet High qualified from the Royal Free Hospital in 1980.

Dr High runs a fortnightly diabetic clinic at the surgery. Her interests include Medicine and Women's Health and Dermatology. She works as GP with Special Interest in dermatology.

She is also actively involved in medical student teaching. She takes a fourth year medical student from the Royal Free Hospital several times a year and teaches on the PDS course at the RFH.

Dr Ann Griffin MB BS, FHEA, MRCGP(2001 dist.), M.Med.Ed (dist.).

 

Dr Ann Griffin qualified form Kings College Hospital in 1985. She works three sessions a week. Her sessions are quite flexible.

She spends the rest of her time as a Senior Lecturer in Medical Education at Barts and the London Hospitals.

Dr Gill qualified from the Middlesex Hospital in 1990. Her interests are Women and Childrens health.

She also works as a Senior Lecturer in Medical Education at University College Hospital.

Dr Gail Allsopp MB BS, MRCGP(Dist.).

 

We are delighted to announce that Dr Gail Allsopp will be joining the practice as a new partner when she finishes her training year. Initially she will be doing a lot of medical student teaching whilst she builds up her list. She will be doing four clinical sessions a week initially. We invite patients to register with her if they feel that she has become "their" Doctor.
